TITUS ANDRONICUS
A unique retelling of what is perhaps the bloodiest Shakespeare play. This version has been set in Muslim-controlled lands during the crusades, with its usual casting altered in order to create a commentary on western religious influences. Emphasis on high chiaroscuro images and a controlled color
palate.
THE GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN
When prostitute Shen Teh is given a gift from the gods for being a "good person," she must struggle against those who would take advantage of her without losing her good nature. Emphasis on inventive design and
rendering style.
AN ITALIAN STRAW HAT
A late 1800's farce regarding the titular hat, and the chaos that ensues when it is eaten by a horse. Emphasis on vibrant caricature through unique, interesting clothing and body types.
POND DANCE
Set to the tune of Johann Strauss II's "Tritsh-Tratsch Polka," this original dance follows three frogs as they leap from lily pad to lily pad in a futile attempt to catch flitting dragonflies. Emphasis on dance movement and a gestural rendering style.
AMADEUS
An old Salieri recalls his long musical career, especially his jealous interactions with vulgar child prodigy Mozart. Emphasis on detailed rendering and historical accuracy.
SHE KILLS MONSTERS
Agnes is plunged deep into the fantasy world of Dungeons and Dragons when she decides to play her dead sister Tilly's homebrewed module. Emphasis on the sometimes hazy line between fantasy and reality, LARP culture, and interplay of color.
